What is it about?
Four fungi isolated in Thailand (Ganoderma fornicatum, G. williamsianum, Lentinus sajor-caju, Schizophyllum commune) were grown on rubber tree sawdust, corn husk and rice straw and cold-pressed. Sawdust gave the highest density and compressive strength, corn husk the highest tensile, flexural and impact strength. The trimitic species (Ganoderma, Lentinus) outperformed the monomitic S. commune.

Notes on data extraction
Taken from Table 1 (moisture, density, shrinkage) and Table 3 (compression, tension, bending, impact), n = 10. Given only graphically or as ranges and therefore not entered per experiment: water absorption after 96 h (105–209 %), thermal degradation (main stage 200–325 °C), final pH (sawdust 4.78–5.91; corn husk 4.67–5.81; rice straw 5.28–6.12), electrical conductivity, organic matter, nitrogen content (1.05–1.37 %).
